Requirements:

  • Min. 2 years’ experience as Hotel Manager in 4* or 5* operations (hotel and/or cruise ships)
  • A hotel/catering management or hospitality qualification is considered an advantage
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English, French is a plus
  • Knowledge of HACCP and sanitary regulations
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
  • Experience in budgeting, ordering and inventory
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with a multicultural working environment
  • People management skills
  • Have an eye for details
Role and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain company standards and operating procedures
  • Conduct quality controls and spot checks
  • Distribute information within the team as well as to all other departments, including shore-side and head office
  • In charge of on-board HR matters
  • Monitor and support departmental training
  • Evaluate head of departments and provide feedback, including performance-enhancing action plans when necessary
  • Ensure head of departments frequently evaluate and provide feedback to their team members, including performance-enhancing action plans when necessary
  • Support and encourage talented crewmembers by identifying and suggesting career steps, following the company HR operating standards
  • Monitor and ensure necessary disciplinary actions are taken and administered in accordance with company standards
  • Organize daily meetings with captain, cruise director and heads of departments
  • Ensure timely reporting to local authorities
  • Liaise professionally with local authorities during inspections and audits
  • Update the daily programs in cooperation with the cruise director
  • Perform Welcome & Farewell speeches to the guests
  • Strive to reach cost, KPI and rating targets
  • Monitor the crew vacation plans
  • Monitor the crew duty schedules and ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation
  • Be familiar with all docking locations and shore excursions
  • Monitor monthly inventories, purchase orders, and delivery controls
  • Prepare and send cruise closings documentation to the head office
  • Handle guest complaints
  • Proofread printed guest leaflets
  • Ensure proper storage use
  • Ensure correct handling of all equipment, devices, machinery, as well as reporting of any defects
  • Participate in all safety drills
  • Report any potential Safety hazards to the captain
  • Participate in scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings

Side Tasks:
  • Prepare winter repairs and maintenance list
  • Perform other duties such as luggage service, loading, and garbage off-loading
  • Participate in all safety drills
