The Scenic story began in 1986, when our founder Glen Moroney began operating coach tours throughout Australia, quickly expanding into New Zealand, Norfolk Island, and South Africa. By the end of the decade, Scenic was hosting tours to Canada and Alaska, and in 2008 we launched our unique Space-Ships and began offering luxury all-inclusive river cruises throughout Europe. In 2019, Scenic also launched the World’s First Discovery yacht, Scenic Eclipse. Emerald Cruises was formed in 2013 to offer a contemporary and inclusive cruise experience. Fast forward to 2025 and we have 10 Star-Ships sailing the rivers of Europe and Southeast Asia, and two ultra-luxury yachts that explore the most desirables coastlines and oceans.



Scenic Group is looking to hire Director of New Business Development, Charter & Incentive Sales to join our team at our Hollywood, FL corporate location.

Job Overview:

The Director of New Business Development, Charter & Incentive Sales – will play a pivotal role in driving new business development sourced from the United States and Latin America for Charter & Incentive Sales within the Scenic Group portfolio of river, ocean and expedition ships’. This position emphasizes proactive business development, focusing on identifying and closing high-value charter opportunities that align with the company’s profitability and long-term growth goals for both Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises. The Director will also prioritize multi-year and multi-product agreements, ensuring exceptional client retention and satisfaction rates. This role requires a dynamic, self-starter professional with a proven ability to secure and manage high-revenue business, collaborate across teams, and contribute significantly to Scenic Group’s strategic vision of making charters a key component of its growth plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive Business Development: Aggressively seek out new charter opportunities by identifying high-potential clients and markets, building pipelines, and leveraging industry networks.
  • Profitability-Focused Sales: Ensure all charter agreements meet or exceed profit margin goals, focusing on sustainable growth and long-term value for the company.
  • Client Engagement & Retention: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including event planners, corporate leaders, and high-net-worth individuals, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Multi-Year & Multi-Product Sales: Drive multi-year, multi-product charter agreements that align with Scenic Group’s strategic objectives and create value across different offerings.
  • Closing Deals: Lead the full sales cycle, from initial contact and proposal development to negotiation and closing, ensuring contracts support both client needs and company goals.
  • Event Representation: Represent Scenic Group at key trade shows, industry events, and client meetings, showcasing the brand’s luxury offerings and unique charter experiences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with counterparts including Director of Charters & Incentive Sales in the US and counterparts in Commercial Management and Charter Operations to develop cohesive sales strategies, share insights, and align on overarching goals as well as the field, key account, and groups sales team to create a charter pipeline with new business development.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of charters.
  • Market Research: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to continually refine strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Performance Metrics: Provide detailed charter client funnel activity throughout the lifecycle as well as engagement activity within Salesforce, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 7-10 years in luxury travel, charters, corporate sales, or related fields, with a strong emphasis on proactive business development and high-value deal closures.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to align sales efforts with broader business profitability and growth strategies.
  • Client Focus: Demonstrated success in building and maintaining long-term client relationships with high satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and regions.
  • Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the luxury travel and charter markets, including trends, client needs, and competitive landscapes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in global luxury brands within travel or hospitality.
  • Availability to travel up to 50% to grow presence and business for Charters.
  • Knowledge of the charter business, including yachts, river cruises, and ocean cruises.
  • Familiarity with multi-year and multi-product sales strategies.
  • Book of business with charters, MICE, corporate direct (preferred).
