The Role:  We seek a talented and experienced 'Waste Management Utility'.

Description Brief:

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail‑oriented Waste Management Utility to join our Hotel and Galley team onboard. This role is critical to maintaining the ship’s sanitation, safety, and environmental compliance standards.

The Waste Management Utility is responsible for the collection, sorting, processing, and disposal of all shipboard waste in accordance with international maritime regulations, including MARPOL, the Ship Garbage Management Plan, and USPH standards. In addition, the role supports galley and food service operations during service periods and assists with cleaning food preparation and in‑service areas.

This position plays a vital part in ensuring smooth culinary operations, maintaining hygiene standards, and protecting the marine environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  •   Previous experience in waste management, galley utility, or a similar role on board a cruise ship is required
  • Knowledge of maritime waste regulations, sanitation, and hygiene standards (MARPOL / USPH preferred)
  • Experience operating industrial waste‑processing equipment is an advantage
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy objects
