Executive Housekeeper


Requirements:

  • Min. 2 years' experience in a housekeeping department as a manager
  • Experience in a 4* or 5* operations (hotel or cruise ships)
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of sanitary regulations
  • Knowledge of budgeting, costs and KPI’s
  • Excellent understanding of chemicals and cleaning products
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Stress tolerant
  • Familiar with a multicultural working environment

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsible for the smooth organization and running of the housekeeping department
  • Ensure maintenance and cleanliness front and back of house according to Ecolab regulations, including crew area.
  • Assist the housekeeping team with the cleaning and service of guest's cabins, including turndown service and embarkation set up as needed
  • Welcome and greet guests according to company standards
  • Overlook and monitor the distribution of items to cabins
  • Strive to reach cost, revenue, and rating targets and implement necessary improvements and actions
  • Execute purchase orders, including equipment items and delivery control
  • Overall responsibility of uniforms (issuance, controlling and returning)
  • Ensure a proper introduction of new joining crewmembers to the team
  • Evaluate the housekeeping team with the assistance of the Asst. Housekeeper and provide feedback to crewmembers, including performance enhancing action plans when needed
  • Ensure a proper storage use
  • Ensure knowledge of all docking locations and shore excursions within the housekeeping team
  • Prepare and monitor the department's vacation planning in accordance with the vessels’ general vacation plan
  • In charge of pest control and action plans in accordance with company standards
  • Review cruise questionnaires and address any matters with the housekeeping team
  • Conduct frequent training sessions with the housekeeping department
  • Overall responsible for handling of all guest and crew laundry, including externally laundered linen and uniforms
  • Ensure correct handling of all equipment chemicals and machinery
  • Ensure the housekeeping department has a complete understanding of designated safety roles, duties and in-port-manning
  • Duly report any potential safety hazards


Side Tasks:

  • Participate in scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned, e.g. luggage service, loading, and garbage off-loading
  • Participate in all safety drills and ensure solid knowledge of designated Safety role
