Commercial Yield Revenue Manager- Vancouver Office

The position will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing pricing/promotion data and trends, monitor market competition, develop and expand on pricing tools, evaluating ad-hoc reports as necessary and maximising gross profits and strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets associated with Scenic and Emerald Waterways, Canada. This position will be assessing sales and clawing revenue making recommendations for offers across all brands. You will be able to present data and interactive with other departments making suggestions for improvements.

Tasks

  • Understand and apply the principles of yield management to optimize the revenue of the company
  • Carefully analyse and monitor the market dynamics and the evolution of demand, competition and seasonality to determine and adjust the company's pricing.
  • Develop a system to assist in comparing the market and setting up competitive company tariffs
  • Carry out specific analysis to identify any opportunities and enhance the performance of each market
  • Develop Pricing strategy across the brands
  • Implement adequate pricing for all customers segments (B2B, B2C, loyalty programs) and liaise with relevant stakeholders
  • Proactively take part in specific projects to improve current yield management and tariff optimization procedures
  • Production of reports to manage all commercial revenue within set budgets.
  • Pricing air and river cruise brochure and special offers
  • Pricing tour packages
  • Competitor review and analysis. Action plan on course of action on pricing/offers
  • Responsible for achieving margins
  • Margin calculations and analysis including monthly, quarterly and annual production of data
  • Supply auditors with data in conjunction with Finance
  • Production of KPI’s for relevant departments
  • audit all tour pricing for release of Scenic and Emerald products in North America.
  • Act as a yield advisor, representing Scenic & Emerald Waterways Canada in the global yield team.
  • Develop strategies for generating leads and increasing databases
  • Continually monitor and make suggestions for improving the effectiveness of campaigns
  • Manage discount budget
  • Provide additional business analysis and reporting as required
  • Coordinate the timely and relevant flow of pricing and marketing offers to internal departments.

  • Tactical Pricing  - including management of margins and discounts– using revenue management, yield analysis to make suggestions, support marketing activity

Required Skills/Qualifications

Essential

  • The successful candidate should have relevant commercial management experience within travel industry
  • Excellent level of numeracy and analytical skills, good attention to detail and proven experience of flexing prices in reaction to changing market conditions
  • 3-5 years of commercial revenue marketing experience.
  • Hands on experience managing yield, pricing and discount strategies.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Access, Excel, MS Windows, Office, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Self-starter and able to juggle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Collaborative and able to work with/through others
  • Relationship development skills & experience.
  • Ability to operate within a defined pricing budget.
