CRUISE DIRECTOR

JOB PROFILE:

Generally, The Cruise Director is responsible for providing wonder to Scenic’ guests by managing the cruise in an efficient manner and delivering a quality touring experience, which meets or exceeds expectations.

This may be broken down into the following tasks:

To manage the day to day activities of the cruise in an efficient and timely manner within the financial parameters of the company.
To assist in providing interesting, informative and entertaining commentary and other appropriate entertainment for guests.
To ensure that guests receive the level of personal assistance & attention that is expected from the Scenic range of products.
To ensure safe and efficient operation of contracted vehicles and modes of transport.
To work closely with local service providers to ensure that all program arrangements are in place, in advance according to our guidelines.
To build a sound working relationship with the Supplier Representatives ashore and TDs from connecting tours, as well as with technical/nautical department and hotel services on board the Scenic Spaceships.
To ensure that the Company, and our guests, receive the expected levels of quality service from our suppliers.
To understand the emergency procedures, and to provide assistance in cases of emergency.
To act as a company ambassador; to promote other Scenic Tours products and other tour destinations; to do everything possible for guests to choose a tour with Scenic Tours again.
To ensure the presentation and cleanliness of ships and vehicles is maintained at all times.
To take responsibility for ensuring that all luggage is accounted for, loaded and handed over to the transport provider or TD from connecting tour.
To ensure adherence with the dress code at all times.
To be familiar with the cruise itinerary according to tour documentation provided by the Operations Department and for itineraries of adjoining products.
To meet with all suppliers and attractions on the cruise you are responsible for managing and to actively participate in all land excursions or one when Scenic Free Choices.
To complete and process the Daily Report on the company intranet for each day of the itinerary in an unbiased professional manner. Noncompliance will lead to the termination of the contract.
To provide timely feedback on tour progress, incidents and issues, product recommendations, during & after the cruise.
To participate in training, briefings and meetings related to the role.
To participate in performance development reviews.
To understand and comply with all Scenic Tours policies and SOP’s (standard operating procedures).
To check and rearrange transfer lists to best accommodate guests' comfort, while minimizing costs.
To facilitate a proper and organized handover with the embarking Cruise Director on the day before your disembarkation and fill in and sign the handover form.
To take good care of on board mobile phone, computer and printer and report any malfunction to Operations Department.
To participate in all on board guest events, including meals, briefings, lectures and entertainment events.
After completion of tour, to be available for a debriefing with Operations Department.
